Yes hello - hope you are keeping safe & well out there. This week we have a mini update episode for you our lovely listeners.
It was Dani’s birthday, and she went on a zookeeper experience where she enjoyed Birthday capybara cuddles followed by a lovely tapas meal in costa del Leyland.
I’ve had a quiet week this week and it’s been nice, some chilled caffeinated catch ups with pals and I have been painting some stones. I did one for Quackers , dropped it off on Saturday, slightly worried that they won’t be able to open their door due to the painted stone I wedged through their letter box. Not sure if we told everyone about Quackers? I mentioned Quackers a while back - the one-legged duck, amazing story but sadly quackers recently passed away. Very sad event So rest well lil duck & blessed be. (*update – Quackers mum and dad loved the stone & if you check out their Instagram you can see it.
There have been a few developments and some new true crime cases that have surfaced over the recent weeks.
I’m going to start by talking about Esther Dingley. We mentioned Esther way back in another mini, episode 2 I believe, so if you haven’t listened to that perhaps go back to get the full story - but a brief recap.
Esther went missing back in November 2020 whilst on a solo hike in the Pyrenees mountains, it has been well documented in the media and I have been following the case since she first disappeared. Sadly, bone fragments and a skull which were discovered near to where Esther went missing have been confirmed through DNA as belonging to her. (July 30th).
Now we still don’t know what happened to Esther, but Colonel Xavier Wargnier, one of the senior French officers involved in the search. Stated that the most likely explanation was a tragic accident however they aren’t currently ruling out foul play.
He confirmed that the skull was found at an altitude of 2,200 meters (7218ft) so not far from Esther’s last plotted point - but that it could also have been dislodged by melting snow.
He said: "It could have hurtled down the mountain during the Spring thaw."
There are brown bears and wolves in the area and Esther herself posted a picture of what looked like bear tracks on her Instagram account before communication ceased.
I will continue to follow this story and we will update you in the group/through the socials if we hear more. But I would hope that Dan, Esther’s partner, and her family are doing okay, and our thoughts are with them.
*** update
I recorded a little extra piece on Esther as of today 10th August just a day after Dani and I recorded this mini episode there has been a major update in Esther Dingley’s case.
Dan Colegate Esther’s partner, who has been hiking the area where she disappeared at every opportunity in search of her - has finally found Esther.
Yesterday, on the afternoon of 9 August, Esther’s body and equipment were found together in the Pyrenees, by her partner Dan - close to where a bone was discovered two weeks ago.
The statement added: "A team of forensic specialists along with mountain rescue personnel were dispatched to the site in order to catalogue the scene and recover Esther.
A full investigation is under way to confirm the details surrounding this case.
"The family remain incredibly grateful for the efforts of the police units involved and their commitment to understanding the exact circumstances of Esther's death."
On a personal note, I am so glad that Dan found her, I just think it’s kismet that his efforts paid off.
We said it earlier and I’ll say it again - very upsetting news and our thoughts are with Dan & Esther’s family.

And I’m afraid it isn’t getting any better because I’m going to tell you about Logan Mwangi also known as Logan Williamson. Logan was a five-year-old boy who sadly died recently. His story is predominant in the media at present and you may have heard about his case.
It was understood Logan had been isolating with his mum, Angharad Williamson, and stepdad Jay Cole while recovering from Covid. Their last day of self-isolation was due to be Saturday, when in the early hours neighbours reported hearing screams - Angharad was screaming that Logan was missing and the police were called, hours later the youngsters body was discovered in the River Ogmore, in Bridgend County which is super close to their home. Logan was beaten horrifically, and his body dumped in the river opposite their house which the family apparently regularly used for fly tipping.
Absolutely horrific. Initially the mother and stepfather were documented as being devastated doting parents, but more recently another very different and shocking narrative has emerged where they, along with a 13-year-old have been arrested for Logan’s murder.
As of yesterday, the 7th august, Logan's stepfather John Cole, 39, has been charged with murder and has appeared at Newport Crown Court.
He and Logan's mother, Angharad Williamson, 30, both who are from Sarn, have been charged with perverting the course of justice.
The 13-year-old boy, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, also appeared in court charged with perverting the course of justice, he has been remanded into local authority care.
Charges allege that Mr Cole murdered Logan between 28 July and 1 August.
All three defendants are expected to enter pleas on 12 November and a provisional trial date of 31 January 2022 was set.
We’ll keep an eye on the case and fill you in on any further developments.
yeah, it’s just horrible isn’t it. That’s three kids that have been impacted by this, they have another child, a baby too. The 13-year-old may have been complicit through no choice of his own.
Another young victim next, I’m afraid and it’s the story of 15-year-old Amanda Selby.
Amanda was from Ashton-Under Lyne, Greater Manchester and attended Droylsden Academy, popular young woman who also attended her local dojo with her mum - very involved and caring by all accounts.
Amanda was on a family holiday in Wales, staying at the Ty Mawr Holiday Park in Towyn near Abergele Emergency services were called to the holiday spot on Saturday July 31st at around 3.15pm after reports of a domestic disturbance. An air ambulance landed on the busy A548 coast road which runs alongside the caravan and camp site, along with several ambulances and rapid response vehicles - later a large number of police officers arrived at the scene and cordoned off areas of the park.
Amanda had been involved in that domestic disturbance and she had been killed. I’m not going to speculate on this because it is an active case but what I will say is that her brother, 19-year-old Matthew Selby, has been charged with her murder.
He appeared before Mold Crown Court on Wednesday (August 4) wearing a grey sweatshirt and spoke only to confirm his name during a 15-minute hearing. No pleas were entered, and a provisional trial date has been set for February 28, 2022.
Jesus.
Yep, I don’t want to perpetuate false narratives here, but it’s worth noting that I have read those Neighbours had commented that Matthew may have had learning difficulties, I wonder if they are misinterpreting or generalising something else, they don’t understand? Am I making sense there? Whatever, I have a feeling we may never fully know the motive here, it’s a very sad case and I truly feel for all involved.
definitely. Well, I’m going to give you some closure and this is a case I know you have been following since it happened on the 17th may last year. It’s the case of Aya Hachem from Blackburn, Lancashire.
Aya was said to be in the "wrong place at the wrong time" when she was killed by a stray bullet.
Pisses me off this case.
it’s frustrating for sure. Aya Who was 19 and studying law at the university of Salford was heading to a local supermarket to buy food for her family to break their Ramadan fast. This walk took her past Quick shine & RI tyres, where she was hit by a stray bullet which had been fired at Pachah Khan. The bullet entered Arya’s left shoulder, passed through her body, and ended up in a telegraph pole, Aya died in the hospital later that day.
So why had someone fired at Pachah Khan? Well, he was the proprietor of Quick shine Tyres and him and the owner of next doors RI tyres, Feroz Suleman, didn’t get along; and this went back to early 2019 when Quick shine Tyres, which previously only washed cars, began selling tyres as well.
This prompted a feud and a bitter dispute which escalated when Feroz Suleman hatched a murderous plot to kill Pachah Khan, with the help of accomplices.
Zamir Raja, 33, Kashif Manzoor, 26, Ayaz Hussain, 36, Abubakr Satia, 32, Anthony Ennis, 31, and Uthman Satia, 29.
Giving evidence recently at the 12-week trial, father-of-two Suleman, who was previously jailed in 2001 for causing the death of a 67-year-old man by dangerous driving, denied any knowledge of a plot to kill Mr Khan.
However, Hussain told jurors that Suleman wanted Mr Khan "roughed up" and introduced him to Raja who suggested a drive-by with shots fired in the air to scare him. Feroz Suleman was quoted a price of £1,500 and excitedly agreed straightaway,
The court heard how a Toyota Avensis driven by Ennis with hitman Raja on board drove past Quick shine on three occasions shortly before that fatal fourth journey.
Footage from CCTV cameras captured Feroz Suleman standing outside his premises with a "ringside seat" to the shooting. Links in the sources as per.
On Tuesday of this week at Preston crown court, jurors took less than four hours to find the seven men guilty of murdering Aya Hachem and the attempted murder of Mr Khan. All of them including Feroz Suleman himself were sentenced to life with a minimum term of 34 years.
Sentencing them, Mr Justice Turner said: "None of you seven showed any remorse in the aftermath of the shooting. Together you tried to lie, scheme, and plot your way out of trouble.
"It was not long before you all started to sacrifice your co-defendants in an attempt to save your own skins."
Judy Chapman, 26, of Great Harwood, who drove the gunman and driver from Bolton with her boyfriend Uthman Satia, was cleared of murder but found guilty of manslaughter and will be sentenced on 1 October.
thoughts.
Just an absolute waste of a young life. Her family had escaped from Lebanon I believe, had come to the England for a better life - it’s just terrible.
Well, I think that’s it for the updates this week. Next week I am going to take you through case of Ben McDaniel. So, I hope you can join us for that.
Yes, so until then stay safe and we’ll see you soon.
Bye 👋.
